I just sailed for 8 nights in the Caribbean on Explora I and after some 300+ cruises in my long travel industry career, will attest this is one of the industries finest vessels, most uniquely decorated and appointed with no expense spared, and having the dedication to the finest onboard cuisine by hiring true Michelin Star chefs working onboard to create the most innovative well-prepared food at sea.
The most impressive feature are the hand selected crew (Hosts). All hail from land-based resorts worldwide and all nationalities represented but each were vetted for their true caring personalities and ability to manage service and exceed guest expectations. To be frank, Explora Journeys have hit a 100% home run here!
The ship has 371 suites. The smallest is 377 square feet, all with walk in closet, world class amenities, and yacht designed style. There are also an array of penthouses and cove residences (not for sale) for those wanting the larges suites and the best of the best.
The atmosphere is country club casual and more resort like as if you were vacationing at a Four Season or Ritz Carlton resort.
The food is exceptional (Dare, I say-The best I’ve encountered at sea) and taken on smaller restaurants that are like a fine restaurant shore side and include, Fil Rouge (French/International cuisine), Med Yacht Club (Mediterranean Inspired) Marble & Co (steakhouse and seafood), Sakura (Pan Asian), Anthology (true Michelin Star guest chef-this venue levies a fee), and The Emporium Marketplace, which is a gourmet food hall open for all meals and a magnificent venue which some might call a buffet, however, the quality here beats most anything I have ever seen and there is no self service or anyone touching food or utensils as servers prepare your dish to order and serve to you. There is a gourmet coffee shop, creperie/waffle bar, ice crème bar, afternoon high tea, pizza bar, and 24-hour room service all included…
This 65,000 ton, 14-deck yacht is spread out over many intimate areas with 3 outdoor pools, 1 massive indoor/outdoor pool, a spa with spa pool, thermal suites salt room, ice room, steam and sauna (included), many bars, some of the largest hot tubs at sea, and massive Techno gym with indoor and outdoor workout & Pilates equipment.
